What should primary care providers know how to do if they are working in mental health setting?

A growing trend across the country to address the health disparity and treatment gaps experienced by people with serious mental illnesses (SMI) is to have Primary Care Providers (PCPs) work inside mental health treatment settings. Patients and families who receive mental health care can come to expect more primary care services to be offered and delivered at the same location. Implementing combined services and working with multiple providers can be challenging.
