What is the best antidepressant to use in children?

Currently there is only one Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved antidepressant for use in children age eight and older: fluoxetine. The FDA has issued a warning that all antidepressants may increase the risk of suicidal thinking and behavior in some children and adolescents with major depressive disorder. You should ask your doctor about if you have more questions.
