What are some helpful ways to manage interprofessional conflicts on Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams?

Conflict is very common in teams, and the intense work involved in behavioral health settings can be a particular trigger for stress and interpersonal conflict among team members.

1. Staff retreats can be a useful way to discuss common goals, shared mission, and strategies for addressing conflict.
2. Clear delineation of roles can help provide a framework for understanding and defusing conflicts.
3. Leaders should provide a supportive environment for discussing and resolving conflicts when they arise.
