This video demonstrates how to administer (a long-acting injectable) medication into the ventral gluteal (or ventrogluteal) site (or gluteal muscle near the hip).
Once injection site landmarks (as demonstrated) are established, the needle should be inserted at a 90-degree angle into the skin targeting the underlying muscle.
