Mental health peer support specialists use their lived experience to provide assistance to people experiencing mental distress. People living in rural areas are less likely than their urban counterparts to seek professional help for psychological distress. The purpose of this study was to explore the anticipated value of rural peer support specialists as facilitators to seeking mental health help in rural areas.
