How do telephone visits (without video) during COVID-19 work in terms of what services can be offered and billed?

As of April 30, 2020 (retroactive to March 1, 2020), CMS has updated the telehealth list with those codes that can be done via audio only. You can read the details here. It includes the majority of mental health services already approved for telehealth, but does not include the “standard” E/M service (such as the 99213). CMS has also increased the rates for the telephone only codes that appear to be equivalent to the current rates of the 99212 (5-10 min; $46), 99442 (11-20 min, $76), and 99443 (21-30 min; $110).
